Use of cookies

By means of this notice on the website www.soccergrava.com, owned by GRAVASPORT, S.L., with Tax Identification Number (C.I.F.) B96965348, informs you of its cookie policy, thereby complying with the provisions of Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 of 11 July on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce.

What is a cookie?
Cookies are files that are downloaded to the user’s device (computer/smartphone/tablet) when accessing certain websites and which are stored in the device’s memory. Cookies enable, amongst other things, the storage and retrieval of information regarding a user’s or their device’s browsing habits; they allow us to see which pages are visited, the duration of the session, analyse how a website functions, identify any technical issues, and so on. Depending on the information they contain and how the device is used, they may be used to recognise the user.

What types of cookies are there?
There are several types of cookies based on different criteria:

Based on ownership:

• First-party cookies: These belong to the website owner.
• Third-party cookies: These are owned by a third party, other than the website owner, who will process the information collected.

Depending on their purpose:

• Technical cookies: these are cookies that enable the user to navigate a website, platform or application and to use the various options or services available on it, including those used by the publisher to manage and operate the website and enable its functions and services, such as, for example, controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted-access areas, remember the items included in an order, complete the purchase process for an order, process payment, monitor fraud relating to the security of the service, process registration or participation requests for an event, count visits for the purposes of invoicing licences for the software on which the service (website, platform or application) operates, using security features whilst browsing, storing content for the streaming of videos or audio, enabling dynamic content (for example, the loading animation of text or an image) or sharing content via social media.

Also falling into this category, due to their technical nature, are those cookies which enable the most efficient possible management of advertising spaces which, as a further element of the design or ‘layout’ of the service offered to the user, the publisher has included on a website, application or platform based on criteria such as the content published, without collecting information from users for other purposes, such as personalising that advertising or other content. Technical cookies shall be exempt from compliance with the obligations set out in Article 22.2 of the LSSI when they enable the provision of the service requested by the user, as is the case with the cookies listed in the preceding paragraphs. However, if these cookies are also used for purposes that are not exempt (for example, for behavioural advertising purposes), they shall be subject to those obligations.

• Preference or personalisation cookies: these are cookies that enable information to be remembered so that the user can access the service with certain features that may differentiate their experience from that of other users, such as, for example, the language, the number of results to be displayed when the user carries out a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser through which the user accesses the service or the region from which they access the service, etc.

If the user themselves chooses these settings (for example, by selecting a website’s language by clicking on the flag icon for the relevant country), the cookies are exempt from the obligations set out in Article 22.2 of the LSSI, as they are considered a service expressly requested by the user, provided that the cookies serve exclusively the purpose selected.

• Analytics or measurement cookies: these are cookies that enable the data controller to monitor and analyse the behaviour of users of the websites to which they are linked, including measuring the impact of advertisements. The information collected via this type of cookie is used to measure activity on websites, applications or platforms, with the aim of making improvements based on the analysis of data regarding how users utilise the service.
With regard to the processing of data collected via analytics cookies, although they are not exempt from the obligation to obtain informed consent for their use, it is unlikely that they will pose a risk to users’ privacy provided that they are first-party cookies, that they process aggregated data for strictly statistical purposes, that information on their use is provided, and that users are given the option to opt out of their use.

• Behavioural advertising cookies: these are cookies that store information on users’ behaviour obtained through the continuous monitoring of their browsing habits, which enables a specific profile to be created in order to display advertising tailored to that profile.

Depending on how long they remain active on the end-user’s device, we can distinguish between:

• Session cookies: these are designed to collect and store data whilst the user is accessing a website. They are usually used to store information that is only relevant for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion (for example, a list of purchased products) and are deleted at the end of the session.

• Persistent cookies: these are cookies where the data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie, which may range from a few minutes to several years.

What is a cookie used for?

Cookies are used to provide you with personalised services and/or advertising, to analyse how the system works, to recognise you when you log in as a user, to identify any incidents or problems that may arise and resolve them as quickly as possible, and to analyse and measure the use and activity on the website.

Is my consent required to set a cookie?

Consent is not required for the installation of technical cookies or those that are strictly necessary for the provision of an information society service expressly requested by the user.
